Weltpremiere des neuen Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 auf dem Internationalen Automobil-Salon in Genf .

Das Mercedes-Benz EQ Formel E Team zeigte seinen Formel E-Rennwagen erstmals vor dem Beginn des Internationalen Automobil-Salons in Genf (07. bis 17. März 2019) .
Der elektrische Silberpfeil erhält für seinen ersten Auftritt eine besondere "Teaser Livery"
Die Saison 2019/20 ist die erste, in der Mercedes sowohl in der Formel 1 als auch der Formel E antritt .

Beide Rennserien stellen zukünftig gemeinsam einen wichtigen Technologietreiber für die Mercedes-Familie dar:

Die 89. Ausgabe des Internationalen Automobil-Salons in Genf hat einen weiteren Star: Mit dem Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 feierte das Teaser Car des ersten vollelektrischen Rennwagens des Mercedes-Benz EQ Formel E Teams in Genf seine Premiere. Das Auto wird vom 07. bis 17. März 2019 auf der Messe zum ersten Mal öffentlich ausgestellt.
Der Rennwagen erstrahlt dabei in einer besonderen "Teaser Livery", die einen Vorgeschmack auf den Einstieg des Teams in die Formel E geben wird. Das finale Design wird zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt vor dem Saisonauftakt präsentiert.

"Der Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 Teaser gibt einen Vorgeschmack auf den ersten elektrischen Silberpfeil von Mercedes-Benz", sagt Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG. "Blaue Akzente sowie der subtile Kontrast zwischen Matt und Glanz in Verbindung mit dem Stern-Pattern am Heck des Fahrzeugs inszeniert den progressiven Luxus im elektrischen Motorsport."

An der Seite des Fahrzeugs verläuft von der Front bis zum Heck eine blaue Linie, welche die Marke EQ symbolisiert. Gleichzeitig dient sie als Farbakzent ähnlich dem PETRONAS Grün am Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+ in der Formel 1. Die Linien helfen dabei, das Auto in seiner Proportion zu optimieren. Am Fahrzeugheck findet sich sowohl in der Formel 1 als auch beim Teaser Car in der Formel E ein Stern-Pattern. Dieses inszeniert auf subtile Weise die Wertigkeit der Marke Mercedes-Benz.


Herausforderung angenommen: Neue Spielwiese in der Formel E

Die Formel E repräsentiert mit ihrer innovativen und komplexen Technik eine neue Rennsport-Welt, in der es für Neueinsteiger viele Herausforderungen zu meistern gilt. Entsprechend stellt der erste öffentliche Auftritt des neuen Rennautos in Genf einen wichtigen Meilenstein auf dem Weg zum Renndebüt in der Formel E dar.

"Der Countdown zu unserem Einstieg in die Formel E hat nun auch offiziell begonnen", sagte Mercedes-Benz Motorsportchef Toto Wolff. "Natürlich arbeitet unsere Mannschaft schon seit einiger Zeit hinter den Kulissen an dem Projekt, aber wenn man wie heute zum ersten Mal das Fahrzeug in unserer Teaser Livery sieht, dann wird einem bewusst, dass es so langsam ernst wird mit dem Einstieg."

Bis zum ersten Renneinsatz des Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 zum Jahresende liegt allerdings noch viel Arbeit vor dem Team. "Die Formel E wird eine komplett neue Spielwiese für uns sein", betonte Toto Wolff. "Aber wir freuen uns auf die Herausforderung, auch im Motorsport die Leistungsfähigkeit unserer intelligenten batterieelektrischen Antriebe zu demonstrieren und die Marke EQ positiv aufzuladen."


Doppelstart stärkt Technologietransfer innerhalb der Mercedes-Familie

Mit dem Beginn der sechsten Saison in der ABB FIA Formel E Meisterschaft schlägt Mercedes ein neues Kapitel in seiner langen und erfolgreichen Rennsportgeschichte auf. Beim Saisonstart 2019/20 werden zum ersten Mal zwei vollelektrische Rennwagen des Mercedes-Benz EQ Formel E Teams ins Rennen gehen.

Damit ist die Marke mit dem Stern der einzige Automobilhersteller der Welt, der sowohl in der Formel 1 als auch der Formel E antritt. Der Doppelstart in den beiden Rennserien ermöglicht es Mercedes, die Lehren aus beiden Serien auf die Straße zu übertragen. Auf diese Weise stellen beide Plattformen gemeinsam einen wichtigen Technologietreiber für die gesamte Mercedes-Familie dar und helfen dabei, die Zukunft des Automobils mitzugestalten.

World premiere for the new Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 at the International Motor Show in Geneva

The 89th International Motor Show in Geneva has another star turn in the shape of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01. The ‘teaser’ version of the first all-electric racing car to be entered by the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team has made its world debut.
The EQ Silver Arrow 01 will be on public display between 7 and 17 March 2019 at the trade show. The car has been given a special ‘teaser livery’ which gives an idea of the team’s Formula E campaign to come. The definitive design will be presented at a later stage ahead of the season opener.

“The Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 teaser car gives a foretaste of the first all-electric Silver Arrow from Mercedes-Benz,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG.
“Blue accents and the subtle contrast between matt and gloss in conjunction with the star pattern at the rear of the vehicle stage the progressive luxury in electric motorsport.”
On the side of the vehicle, running all the way from the front to the rear, is a horizontal blue line symbolising the EQ brand. At the same time, it serves as a colour contrast similar to the PETRONAS  green on the Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+ in Formula 1. The lines help to optimise visual proportionality. At the rear of the vehicle there is a star motif for both the Formula 1 car and the Formula E teaser version. This subtly conveys the high-value Mercedes-Benz brand.

Challenge accepted: Formula E as new arena

With its innovative and complex technology, Formula E represents a whole new world of racing, in which newcomers face multiple challenges. This first public appearance of the new car in Geneva therefore constitutes an important milestone on the way to the team’s Formula One E debut.

“The countdown to our entry into Formula E has now officially begun,” says Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Toto Wolff. “Our team has obviously been working behind the scenes on this project for quite a while now, but when you see the car in our teaser livery for the first time, you know that the project has entered a serious phase.”

However, the team still has a lot of work to do before the Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 contests its first race towards the end of the year.

“Formula E is going to be a completely new playing field for us,” adds Toto Wolff. “But we are looking forward to the challenge of demonstrating the performance of our intelligent battery-electric drives in motorsport and of giving a positive boost to the EQ brand.”

Parallel commitment consolidates technology transfer within the Mercedes family
When the sixth season of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship gets underway, Mercedes will be opening a new chapter in the long and successful racing history of the brand. At the start of its debut season in 2019/20, the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team will be entering not one but two all-electric racing cars.

The brand with the three-pointed star will thus become the only automobile manufacturer in the world to compete in both Formula 1 and Formula E. The parallel commitment to the two racing series will enable Mercedes to transfer the lessons learned in both arenas to the road. The two platforms taken together constitute an important technology driver for the entire Mercedes family and will help to shape the future of the automobile industry.
