GOLF: Junior Ryder Cup, US Team wins the tenth edition 2016 !



JUNIOR RYDER CUP 2016, 26.-27.09.2016, Interlachen Country Club USA

Congratulation to the US  Junior Ryder Cup Team !  

The 6 boys and 6 girls under age 18 from the United Stated, have won again the Junior Ryder Cup, - the sixth time - , including the inaugural edition in in 1997.
The 2006 contest was halved, with Team Europe lifting the trophy in 1999, 2002 and 2004.

The 2018 Junior Ryder Cup will be played in Disneyland Paris, Europe, in conjunction with the 42nd Ryder Cup.

The 41th  Ryder Cup 2016, worlds most important Golf Team Event, kicks of  in a couple of days at  Septembre 30th, and participants in the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup will also play a nine-hole ‘Friendship Match’ on September 28th at Hazeltine National Golf Club, in Minnesota, host venue of The Ryder Cup 2016.


The Junior Ryder Cup has been the platform from which successful professional careers have been launched for several players: For example
Spaniard Sergio Garcia played in the 1995 exhibition match.
While Suzann Pettersen played in the Junior Ryder Cup in 1997 and 1999, before becoming Norway’s top female golfer and taking part in five Solheim Cups.
Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts played in the 1999 Junior Ryder Cup and was part of the 2012 Ryder Cup.
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy was on the victorious 2004 team, and entered the 2012 Ryder Cup as the world’s No. 1 player.
